The WelComm project aims at raising awareness of the importance of education for social inclusion of migrants from early age and promoting opportunities for equal start in education.
WelComm project was presented during a meeting of IIY (International Internship for Youth) on 29th October 2016 in Pluhuv Zdar, Czech Republic.
WelComm project was presented on 25th October 2016 during a meeting with 20 migrants of different associations in the office of an NGO called FIADELSO, in Valencia.
The WelComm project was presented at a good practice exhibition within the framework of the transnational conference “Languages for work and social integration”. The event was held on October 20th, 2016 in Vilnius, Lithuania and attended by policy makers in the field of language education, governmental authorities, educational organisations, language teachers working with children and adults, organisations involved in European cooperation projects from over 15 countries
The WelComm project was presented as a good practice at an exploitation seminar dealing with social inclusion through language education which took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on October 14th, 2016. The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education, educational institutions, schools, universities, language teachers working with children and adults, etc.
The Multimedia Learning Kit was presented and it generated a huge interest from the participants. Follow-up meetings were organised with interested organizations and copies of the Kit were provided to schools and educators working with migrant children.
The Multimedia Learning Kit was included in the teaching process of the language center Allegro Vivace which uses the methods of suggestopedia for teaching foreign languages. Copies of the Kit were provided to Allegro Vivace and they are currently being used in one group with children and in another with adults.
On 23rd of July 2016 EURORESO presented WelComm project in Valencia, at the premises of the migrant association of Cameroon, with the collaboration of the Intercultural Platform of Spain.
On 27th June 2016 the WelComm materials were presented during language lessons for migrant children in The Hague, The Netherlands. Children liked most of all to play the Domino and Memory games and learned the words.
The WelComm project was invited to be presented as a good practice at the “School for humanity” conference organised by the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross on June 13th, 2016. The event was part of the initiative “European young volunteers as active citizens” and dealt with issues such as migration, discrimination, racism, values, humanity, etc.
About 70 participants took part in the event, including representatives of migrant organizations, governmental organizations, embassies, NGOs, education institutions, media, etc. The WelComm project was presented during the session “Inspirational Talks” and a number of organizations expressed interest in the project and the Multimedia Learning Kit and requested copies of the product in order to apply them in their work with migrant children.
The final conference of the project will take place on 9th June in Sofia, Bulgaria. During the conference the project products and methods will be presented and a discussion will be started on current issues regarding the integration of migrants and addressing their educational needs. Representatives from the focus groups will be invited to share their experience and impressions from the project. Key speakers, migrant communities, organizations working for migrants, language educators and volunteers will also take part in the event.
WelComm project was presented during the “third meeting Comenius 0-6” organised by the teaching cooperative “Joan Comenius” on 6th of May 2016. There were more than one hundred participants, all of them working in Combined Preschool Centres (children from 0 to 6 years).
