The WelComm project was invited to be presented as a good practice at the “School for humanity” conference organised by the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross on June 13th, 2016. The event was part of the initiative “European young volunteers as active citizens” and dealt with issues such as migration, discrimination, racism, values, humanity, etc.

About 70 participants took part in the event, including representatives of migrant organizations, governmental organizations, embassies, NGOs, education institutions, media, etc. The WelComm project was presented during the session “Inspirational Talks” and a number of organizations expressed interest in the project and the Multimedia Learning Kit and requested copies of the product in order to apply them in their work with migrant children.

The final conference of the project will take place on 9th June in Sofia, Bulgaria. During the conference the project products and methods will be presented and a discussion will be started on current issues regarding the integration of migrants and addressing their educational needs. Representatives from the focus groups will be invited to share their experience and impressions from the project. Key speakers, migrant communities, organizations working for migrants, language educators and volunteers will also take part in the event.

The WelComm project was presented at the General Assembly of the European network EURORESO on 29 February 2016 in Naples, Italy in front of 33 participants from 17 countries. As a result a few organisations expressed their willingness to support the project development as associated partners.

The next work meeting will take place in Valencia and will be focussed on the organization of the training workshops in partner countries in order to demonstrate the practical application of the products within a language learning environment. The partners will discuss and agree on further mechanisms for spreading of the Multimedia Learning Kit for Migrant Children and reach as many end-users as possible. They will also think about how to gather feedback (through questionnaire forms, interviews, impressions, etc.) and evaluate the efficiency of the project products.

WelComm project was presented during the kick-off meeting of the project ‘WorKit: Job Language Kit for Migrants’ that took place in Lancaster on 3-4 December 2015.
Partners from 6 European countries got acquainted with the ideas of WelComm project and the Multimedia Kit for migrant children which was currently being developed.

The third partner meeting took place on 28-29 May 2015 in Larnaca, Cyprus. The partners discussed the concept for language learning materials, agreed on the language content of the WelComm products and the design, visual and technical requirements for the animated films, language games and comic books. The next 8 months are going to be dedicated to the development of the Multimedia Learning Kit for Migrant Children in partner languages and testing by associated partners.

During the network meeting Pressure Line presented the WelComm project idea and activities to representatives of educational institutions, municipal organisations, (volunteer) educators and stakeholders. The audience responded positively and several participants expressed willingness to take part in the future project activities.
